‘Beachy waves’

Hi, if you’ve achieved beachy waves in shoulder length hair, what did you use?

Do you mean product or tool?

I have a very slight kink and get a wave of sorts with sea salt spray, a quick scrunch and air drying BUT my hair always feels awful and rough when I use it so would love an alternative.

I had a BRILLIANT hair cut once that made my hair wave much more easily, from a top hairstylist - but no one else I've found can replicate it. I'll DM you the details if you're in London.

Tool-wise I find it really tricky. I sold my Mermade waver as felt it just looked fake. I sometimes use straighteners to curl but don't really like that either.

I wish I knew!! I can sometimes get a lovely look with the sea salt spray. I bought curly hair mouse I found my hair just looked wet all day but I think I used too much

I swim in the sea every morning. Towel dry my hair when I get out, turn my head upside down and shake like a dog. That's it.

Bit of mousse and towel dry. Then scrunch with fingers periodically while it dries. That’s it.

Sorry- I meant a tool.

I want it to be slightly more groomed, as it’s for a wedding.

I often swim in the sea. Mine goes absolutely huge when I leave it 😂.

Have you seen those sausage shaped things your roll your damp hair around and then dry? I'll try to find a link......

DiordreBarlow · 20/08/2025 11:35

Mine too @NormasArse . I quite like it but use clips to calm it down if I want to look less bonkers.

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 20/08/2025 11:36

Can't add a link, but if you search Kitsh heatless curling set on Amazon. I think it's designed to give those loose waves.

I curl mine with straighteners (learnt how from YouTube). It’s actually better the day after when the curl falls out a bit.
