Can anyone recommend a brand of men’s sandals - supportive, with a back strap - that won’t make him look 86?

You could also look at Merrell or Keen, both do men’s sandals with good arch support and a back strap, and they tend to have a more outdoorsy/hiking style rather than the classic “old man” look.
