I let my 11yr old DD have nail extensions with a French tip gel for the summer (might be acrylic?) cost £50 at local salon. I went to book for an infill and they said it would be £40 which seems excessive!?
I was trying to understand the BIAB nails Is this a gel over your own nails which makes them stronger and would this be more affordable? Thanks

I think they are the same price but gel nails for an eleven year old? Really?

I'm surprised any salon did acrylics on someone so young. They do ruin your nails. BiAB is like a brush on version of acrylics. It makes your nails harder and therefore stronger, but needs removing the same as acrylics (soak off or file off). I've had it for years now, but often wonder what my own nails are like underneath, especially as my nail lady files it off.

I pay £26 for BIAB and gel polish. Lasts ages, I've got plain French at the moment and it'll be 7 weeks when I do get them redone.

Honestly at 11 I would just get them removed. Acrylics can be damaging to the nails particularly if done badly. Any reputable salon would not do nails on someone so young.

I used to get gels all the time but have stopped and am a few months in growing out the damage.

I thought they needed to be done every three weeks?
