50th Birthday Outfit

I need an outfit for my 50th I'm going for late afternoon cocktails however I think there is a surprise party planned for later. So want something wow but fits in to the local wine bar. Problem is I don't have a big budget, I am only 5ft 2 inches but a size 16 so struggle to get things to suit. Anyone any ideas please and thanks.

What is your budget? And what’s the context - are your friends / family clothes conscious / dressy, or not?

Also how long do you have to prepare? Time for a new haircut / colour / brows / whatever?
