Hi,

I am on the hunt for new ‘basics’ such as good quality T-shirts, long sleeve tops etc.

I am also interested in bodysuits. I’ve just gone an bought a Skims one after having it on my wishlist for a while.

I am trying to create a bit of a capsule wardrobe and realised I am severely lacking in good quality basics!

please share all your tried, tested, and trusted ones!

People have mentioned Next ‘The Set’ as good quality basics.

Also Uniqlo (I like their merino jumpers especially).

Next do a really excellent range of vest tops. Thick cotton, nice colours, wash brilliantly, well cut. I stock up every summer.

I also like Uniqlo for vests and tapered linen trousers, which I’ve pretty much lived in this summer.

Sweaty Betty or Manners London for leggings.

Rapanui for plain T-shirts.

Oh, and Zara have had a brilliant range of boxy T-shirts this year. Really thick cotton with a bit of stretch.

I don’t usually do well with the boxy cut, as I have broad shoulders and a bit of a tummy so I can look a bit like a pregnant fridge in them, but the Zara one just seems to hit right.

Don’t laugh - Primark - The Edit has had some lovely linen mix items this summer, and a really good quality T-shirt that cost four times their usual basics.

I actually got an amazing basic crew neck t shirt in black from f&f in Tesco recently - quality and material was lovely x

Uniqlo is my go-to place for basics.

Also Fat Face for linen t shirts and chinos.

Interesting. Can’t stand shopping in primark though - it is chaos in there!!
