I can’t say I am impressed with Asda’s current offering when I popped into a store with a small clothing session. I have bought stuff from Sainsbury’s, both first hand and second hand, in the past but I can’t say I am overly impressed.

Used to love Sainsbury's but my one has closed the changing rooms so I don't bother now. Really frustrating, I just want to try 2 sizes on.

notatinydancer · 10/08/2025 09:21

I like Sainsburys and Tesco, don’t like Asda.

NeedWineNow · 10/08/2025 19:33

Really like Tu. I’ve got a couple of great dresses this season and also some sandals. Also got a dress from Asda which I went out in last night and was complimented on which was nice. We haven’t got a big enough Tesco near us with the full clothing range although I do see some nice bits online. I think it’s luck of the draw really.

I like the harem pants at Morrisons. They are really comfortable to wear and wash so well. True to size too. I buy a couple of pairs every year.

Ikeameatballs · 10/08/2025 19:52

I love Tu! The Sainsbury nearest my house stocks the widest range so I get to see lots of the choices. Sometimes the eg print is fab but the fabric quality not so good but I’ve had some pieces that have lasted me really well.

My local Sainsbury's has stopped selling clothes, I asked and was told they don't sell them anymore. This was Lee near Lewisham. Well disappointed as I like their kids clothes.

Just order online! My sainsburys express where I can collect clothes is much closer than the store where I used to try clothes on. Depending on the overall amount, you can just have them delivered to your home also.

I have never bought supermarket clothing but last week I really needed a pair of jeans and couldn’t find a pair that I liked - I went late night shopping in Sainsbury's and thought I’d have a look and found a pair that actually fit in my size - that I didn’t have to size up two sizes! So I was pleasantly surprised.

TheAmusedQuail · 10/08/2025 21:27

About 10/15 years ago (ageing myself now!) Tesco had a good clothes patch. I got loads of stuff from them. It was proper on trend stuff.

But that was the last time I've found a supermarket with good stuff. Tu @ Sainsbury's stuff looks nice on the rack, but the cut is never great. George @ Asda USED to look good on the rack, but now all just looks cheap and nasty.

RIPMTV · 10/08/2025 21:30

Not really, no. The odd thing, maybe, and more basics like underwear, PJs, basic tops, Tu was good at one stage years back, but not anymore.

SquashPenguin · 10/08/2025 21:43

Good for kids but I find Asda adult stuff really frumpy and it all looks so unfashionable. Tu is alright and I’ve had some good jeans from F&F.

CocteauTwin · 10/08/2025 22:39

Like others, I rate the Tu barrel leg jeans, although the ones I got last year are better than the ones they have this year. My other supermarket discovery is Asda for sweatshirts. They have oversized, nicely styled sweatshirts with a front seam and small side slits for £12.50. They are made from 80% cotton and 20% polyester - I generally avoid anything polyester but it's difficult to find 100% cotton sweatshirts, and when I do they can be £50+. The Asda ones look great and wash very well. I don't buy loads from supermarkets but these are my staples.

Rosesandteashops · 10/08/2025 22:52

Cotton bras from Sainsburys. Really comfortable and cheap.

Dutchhouse14 · 10/08/2025 23:19

Not particularly as they are generally too long on my 5"1 frame.
I know some people really love them, I think it's a bit hit and miss as to what's in stock when you are looking and I've ever seen anything in a petite fitting

Sainsbury’s at Bell Green in Sydenham has a huge range and isn’t too far by car…

Usernameisunavailable · 13/08/2025 09:10

Sainsbury’s/ Tu are the best. So annoying that they’ve closed the fitting rooms. I buy a lot less there now because of it.

Comefromaway · 13/08/2025 09:13

I used to buy a lot of clothes from Asda, Sainsbury's & a few bits from Tesco and I have some items that are 8-10 years old that I still wear.

However, the quality of almost everything I have bought from there in the past few years is poor and I have had to replace bobbled cardigans, faded trousers and out of shape t shirts.

FurForksSake · 13/08/2025 09:56

I’ve got a tu order coming today as they sent me a 15% off voucher. Definitely good for work bits and jeans.

Cantonet · 13/08/2025 11:45

Sainsburys clothes are pretty good. I've bought a broderie blouse, some basic cotton vest tops this year & some really nice cotton gauze Xmas pjs. Plus some basic shirts & t shirts for my boys. They all seem to wash & wear well. I find Asda clothes depressing as the store aways looks like a jumble sale & I never go to Tesco's.

TheAmusedQuail · 14/08/2025 07:37

OH! Asda bras. I really like their padded, non underwired, push up bras. Great for small boobs but very comfy too.

ThePoshUns · 14/08/2025 07:45

Asda quality at the moment is poor.
Sainsburys quality ok but not very stylish.
At the moment Tesco is the best. Quality could be a bit better.
If I want cheaper clothes I like Peacocks at the moment for those.

BCBird · 14/08/2025 08:38

Ive not bern impressed recently either. The patterns are awful. I usually find Sainsbury's ok
