Got Unordered JLo Beauty Lip Balms – Why?

My wife got a box from Amazon Fulfillment with 3 JLo Beauty lip balms ($19 each) we never ordered. No Amazon record, not our style, and not a gift. Anyone know why this might happen? Scam or error?

It’s not a scam per se. Sellers will send stuff to random people to make it so they have a certain % of order rates so that they can have reviews etc. I believe it also helps them appear further up the listing. So not ethical, but not really a scam.

It is called a Brushing scam , apparently op just bin it don't engage with amazon its sellers trying to drum up reviews and sales.

I got sent the mankiest pot of bronzer from a tik tok shop, I almost wanted to review it so nobody would buy it!

Got it, that makes sense — sounds like one of those “brushing” tactics I’ve read about. Still odd to get something that’s not even in our Amazon history. I’ll probably just hold onto them for now, but I might also report it to Amazon so they’re aware. Thanks for explaining!

Yeah it unnerved me tbh. I was worried it was someone else's parcel took me a little while and goggling to.work out what it was.
