Microblading/combo brows HELP.

I got my eyebrows done last week. I had the machine method with microblading at the front and shading. They looked great and I was super happy with them. Except today they have started to scab and scabs are hanging off. I can see underneath the scab there is no pigment at all where the tattooed hair strokes originally were and it's just bare skin underneath as it was before I had it done. Has anyone got any advice or tips or experiences. I'm absolutely gutted having had no eyebrows and feeling so happy I finally had some. I will post some pics of the journey so you can see.

I had mine nanobladed a few months ago and almost none of the ink retained, which was really frustrating. You need to have 2 appointments, your artist should fill in any gaps which don't retain. Mine still completely vanished even after the second top up, apparently the ink used for Nanobrows is saturated. She redid mine using micro blading which uses a thicker ink and different process and it's been a lot more successful. They are supposed to go through a fading stage around a week in, and apparently many people's return. You won't really see the final result until around week 6 when you can go for your top up and they will fill in any patches or advise you on whether you need something different.

Yes I've got my top up booked. The front hair strokes are micro blading, but none of it has retained. I'm just confused as if it's in the he skin surely it shouldn't completely come off despite it being only the first session? I hope some of it retains before the top up just because the pigment that's coming away is where I had no hair originally and it's a long time to walk around with bald uneven brows.

Had mine done a couple of years ago and might as well not have bothered. Looked amazing for about a day. None of it retained (even after top up) beyond a faded grey shadow colour which luckily my actual eyebrows cover. The beautician blamed my skin type or something but it sounded a load of BS to me.

But it’s early days for you. They don’t settle for a few weeks.

Just seems like such a waste of money especially if they can blame your skin type for the pigment not retaining, surely they would know what skin type will retain and what won't before carrying out the treatment. I'm just so bummed out because I waited so long to have them done x

I know I felt the same. It was super expensive, and time consuming. I still use powder to fill them in pretty much every day and get them tinted every couple of months. I probably had unrealistic expectations as I hoped to never have to do any of that again!

Hopefully yours will return! They do say not to panic about the fading as it does come back (I don’t understand the science of that though).

I would be totally okay with the fading, even if the powder on the rest of my brow. It's the fact it's not faded but completely come away. What's the point in getting tattooed hair strokes for them to fall off lol it's completely ruined the symmetry and look of them. I know I read that there is a "ghosting stage". But I can't understand the science of it going away and then coming back lol

Yes, some of my microbladed bits have faded/ come off. They look like little iron filings when they came off and I was convinced it was whole chunks of ink. The bits at the inner edges and around the bottom of my brows were the bits with the worst retention for me. In the end, my therapist used a much darker ink which was shocking at first. I'm having my top up on Thursday, as they've "shrunk" a bit, but overall a much better result than the Nanobrows, which were a waste of money (my lady has kindly done my microblading for free as my skin clearly has an issue with the first brows). There is a lot about the "ghost" stage online. It might be that this is what is happening, apparently they completely disappear in this stage for some people. They might come back a bit, if not, it might be worth asking them to use a darker ink or deeper technique for your top up.

I tried microblading in Playa del Carmen at LOVEL BEAUTY a few months ago, and it gave me super natural brows without needing to fill them in every morning. The ultra-fine strokes healed really nicely, and the touch-up pricing made it easy to maintain. If you're tired of fussing with your brows every day, it might be worth checking out.
