It's my sons graduation coming up and I really hate wearing dresses. I've found this which I like, but think I need to smarten it up a bit. I tried a blazer, but it didn't look right.

I'm 5ft 5, with a tummy which makes me look pregnant. (I'm 55yr old.)
I have some nice navy wedge shoes to wear with it.
Thank you.

A structured blazer won't work with the jumpsuit. The jumpsuit in style and pattern is very casual. The cropped length and the elasticated waist and the lack of sleeves make it look like something you'd wear on holiday. Also £139, ouch!

A cropped bomber jacket in a complementary colour might look better. It would give a softer structure that would be more in keeping with the style of the jumpsuit.

I'm not sure the jumpsuit can be smartened up. Is there anything else that you like? I know you don't want to look like a trussed up turkey but there must be better options.

What's your budget?

A navy or white bolero or shorter, boxy, unstructured jacket might work.

I'd ditch the navy wedge shoes and find something more summery and less 'office'.

Ok. thanks.
I didn't pay that much for it so don't worry about that!
So show me the shoes (not heels) and top to go with it please.

Maybe a cropped cardigan/jacket - bottom no longer than the waist of the jumpsuit.
Alternatively add bright pink or red pasmna and similar colour necklace/earrings/bracelet/shoes.

I’d be tempted to stick with the fisherman’s sandals as in the photo or a flatform pair, with a crossbody bag and a fine wool or cotton wrap? Lots of standing about at graduations and it’s good to be comfortable?

Some chunky golf bangles and gold necklaces?

This would be gorgeous with it:

Toast wrap jacket

You will still be dressed rather more for sightseeing than an academic ceremony - but at least elegantly so.

And I agree, keep to the fisherman sandal idea, navy wedges would be a bit ghastly and the proportions would be wrong.
