Can anyone remember the name of this hairspray?

In a dark pink tin, with what I’m sure was green branding, that had the loveliest scent. My Gran used to use it in the late 90s and early 2000s but I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me! Nothing coming up on Google looks right either.

I saw what I thought might have been it in Home Bargains this morning but it just smelled like bog standard hairspray, so it’s not Bristows.

That description reminds me of a dry shampoo that was very popular back then. I try ink it was one of the Batiste varieties.

Bed Head was around in early noughties.. could it be that? Tigi Bed Head, Head Rush Shine spray was pink with a green lid I think 🤔

Was it perhaps Lee Stafford, which smells a bit like Mugler angel?

manicpixieschemegirl · 28/07/2025 17:35

Thanks everyone but no. I’m beginning to think I imagined it!

Studio line?

manicpixieschemegirl · 28/07/2025 19:00

I’ve come across a brand called Creightons and the name triggered something in my brain! It’s been around since the late 80s but I can’t find any pictures of old products. The current ones seem geared towards curly hair but some have the pink and greeny-blue packaging almost in reverse.

I saw the old packaging with the woman’s face on and it definitely isn’t the one I remember.

Shock waves?

Notthisnotthat · 28/07/2025 21:37

I loved the Charles Worthingron hairspray that came in a massive tin. Smell was amazing.

Beachtastic · 28/07/2025 23:02

Elnett???
I don't use or notice hairspray, but that's the first one I thought it of!

FictionalCharacter · 28/07/2025 23:16

Adorn? Very old but it did come in a pink can.

Flozle · 28/07/2025 23:18

Couldn’t be Hard Rock? That was a pinky purple tin. Possibly more late 80s than 90s, but they may have carried on making it. I loved the smell.

Gingernaut · 28/07/2025 23:20

Sounds like Bristows

Kingsleadhat · 28/07/2025 23:26

Vidal Sassoon?

forgivingfiggy · 28/07/2025 23:30

shockwaves came in different colours - the mousse and the hairspray and gel sprays.

HisNameisDanBurn · 28/07/2025 23:35

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I got a perm when I was 14, so around 1999/2000. I used mousse in a pink can and it was the loveliest smell. The hairspray version had the same scent. I recently started using hairspray again (after a 25 year hiatus) and went looking for it in the shops. I’ve tried every brand out there and they all smell awful. Chemically. Nasty. I can’t remember the name but you didn’t imagine it. It was available in the cheaper sort of shops and bargain shops of the time.
