Wedding Outfit

Hiya! A week this Friday I am off to an evening wedding do.

I am off to Meadowhall next weekend for an outfit for this shindig!

I HATE shopping for this kind of thing and if anyone here could pick me an outfit for this and tell me which shop I can locate it in I would be forever in your debt!

My Style

Think ‘lol’ from this is England. Jeans, Fred Perry polo shirts buttoned up, converse in summer, docs in winter. This is my day to day uniform and i wouldn’t feel comfortable in anything floral or ‘feminine’ - I do however wish to look ‘pretty’ or ‘edgy’.

I have very long sun-kissed blonde hair, a size 12-14 and I am 5ft 5.

So, what I do want is ‘dressed up’ but what I don’t want is floral, floaty, girly. I don’t like Navy and I don’t like ‘jackets over the top of outfit’!

what are your ideas?!

Oh and I have no issue with an outfit that is Black! I can always accessorise with bright bags and irregular choice shoes!

Okay - so here’s a list of clothing outlets in the Meadowhall shopping centre:

I count at least 32 possible places to buy something suitable for a wedding. Perhaps you could narrow it down to your top five shops? That would make it less arduous for people to suggest things.

(Bearing in mind, of course, that you may well have to order the exact size or colour you want online, because it’s not in stock at that particular store.)

From what you describe your day to day is fairly boyish, so I'd think waistcoat, nice tapered trousers, irregular choice shoes. Nothing too floral, simple and easy to use again. Maybe add chunky bracelets and a bag if you're so inclined.

That’s the trouble! I don’t have a favourite shop! Except for adidas, Fred Perry & converse none of which are particularly weddingy! The only places I go are to work, gigs and the pub! I’m at a loss as to what’s appropriate wedding attire without me feeling like ET when they dress him up in the closet!

I was also thinking along the waistcoat and trousers line...do you like the look of any of these....

@Richtea67Very much like the disturbing waistcoat but not the trousers! I don’t like the fee of things flappy. Does that make sense? Love the waist coats though!

Try something like these. Theyre tapered do not flappy, will look smart but without wandering from your usual style. If the blue is too much, look for tapered black.

There's also a lot of burgundy on the h and m website, which feels less 'pretty' but maybe less harsh than black. I'm a big fan of the burgundy.

Or cigarette trousers. www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0751471001.html

Mango do a dark brown with white polka dot linen jumpsuit. You might have to order it in to the store.

I like this but not the belt or flappy leg! 🤣 I think I’m going to look at the cigarette trousers and see what I can get for the top half!
