I won a prize in a raffle.

It was a bottle of Britney Spears Fantasy perfume. In a bright pink bottle.

I bloody love it, and it’s inexpensive.

Got me thinking what other cheap perfumes I might be missing out on.

CK One is good.

NCfor24 · 26/07/2025 18:46

My 13 year old recently got the Aldi Intense Red which I believe is a dupe of Baccarat Rouge. It's sooo lovely.
My some wears a Tom Ford dupe from The Scent Reserve (3 for £30ish) and it's great and I have one from there which I can't remember what it's a dupe for but they are big 100ml bottles and it's great for daily wear.
I also used to wear Avon Little Black Dress .... I'd forgotten Avon! Amazing value and often deals on the body wash and lotion etc so good for layering.

Zara cherry smoothie is nicer than Lost Cherry I think (I have both!) I'm not sure they do it anymore though.

Becstarlenski · 26/07/2025 19:04

The apothecary range at m&s especially breathe is gorgeous and at 12 quid a bargain and lasts well. I always get compliments when wearing it.

HEC2746 · 26/07/2025 19:08

I always get comments when I'm wearing Sunflowers, which is cheap as chips.

Also have a £20 dupe of the old discontinued Gucci eau du perfum which is pretty much spot on and I adore that smell so much

Marks and Spencer are doing a whole range of perfumes very cheaply which are good dupes for some very expensive fragrances.

I just came here to say that. I used to love Daisy by Marc Jacobs but not now at £100 a bottle. The M&S version (I think it’s magnolia and something else) in a mauve coloured bottle is about as close as I could get - I love it. The M&S version depending on bottle size is £10-£15 and I always get compliments when I wear it.

I never see River island perfumes mentioned on these threads, there are some good ones. Paris perfume and the Neroli and Ylang-ylang are really nice and smell quite high end. Especially the Neroli and Ylang-ylang one.

Pink Pepper from M&S is a fab dupe of La Vie Est Belle and is only £12 for a big bottle

I remember Poison in the 80’s.

I could still smell it on my clothes after they had been through the wash.

I remember even lighter scents had that staying power. I loved Eau de Givenchy and Eau de Gucci and they would linger for ages, even though they smelled very light and fresh. I really miss those scents.

Cinaferna · 26/07/2025 22:26

DH used these and they are brilliant. They have staying power. I need to check out the women's ones.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s lovely always comes up in discussions about this.

Literally came on to say just this….i bought a 30ml bottle for £12.83 on Friday night and I’ve bought for cheaper before on eBay……surprisingly nice for the price xx

This is a very nice one too xx

But it doesn't last in my experience.

JBJ · 26/07/2025 22:42

Some of Avon’s perfumes are lovely - I regularly use Perceive and Eve Truth. Also love Just Pink from Next. The Aldi copy of Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone is decent, although a little strong for me.

coronafiona · 26/07/2025 22:54

Arosmic dupe for la vie et belle - lovely life- is good

NormaNormalPants · 26/07/2025 23:02

I recently discovered noted aromas and have been really impressed. I particularly like Ibiza which is a dupe for TF soleil blanc.

Paradoes · 26/07/2025 23:08

I've bought SJP and used it for years and loved it

Not super cheap but often on a great offer- Emporium She is nice and next do a dupe of it

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 26/07/2025 23:20

I keep a bottle of Lidl perfume in my glove box and spray my top on a day out (Tshirt, blouse, jacket) . It also freshens my car at the same time 😁

Only the 'Femelle' though.
It smells like Opium Black IMO.
Doesn't last like Opium though.

I don't like any of the other variations in the Lidl range, only Femelle. About 5 squid for a good size bottle.

My mum had this- green bottle?

Anyone know where to find out what dupes are meant to be like what please?

Thank you

petitpasta · 26/07/2025 23:45

The Aldi pomegranate perfume always seems to be the perfume I get complimented on. Less than £7 a bottle. Also use M&S pink pepper which is lovely. Used to use the Lidl one which is meant to be a dupe for Coco Mademoiselle but the last bottle I bought was absolutely awful

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 27/07/2025 06:59

I never see the & Other Stories perfumes mentioned on these threads. They’re not dupes but I think several are lovely and the ones I’ve had lasted well, especially the oil roll on format (£17) rather than EDT(£32). So far I’ve liked Sardonyx Fire (rose/vanilla scent) and The Lost Chapter (fig/sandalwood/ cardamom) but I quite fancy trying one of the woody scents, Arabesque Wood or Nocturnal Tales, next.

AliceMcK · 27/07/2025 13:41

I’ve actually been wearing some Avon perfumes, my favourite TTA Everlasting, they are so cheap I can go nuts on them and not worry at the cost. Only downsize is I’m neglecting my few expensive perfumes.

If I was going to go my all time favourite dosnt break the bank perfume it would be cerrutti 1881 which has been top of my go to perfumes since the 90s, it never fails.

Poobs2022 · 27/07/2025 13:45

The blue Britney one. I think it cost me £15 and it lasts all day. Very pleasantly surprised by it given the price tag!

CakeIsNotAvailable · 27/07/2025 14:17

I love the M&S ones, though personally I don't think they all smell like the perfume they're meant to be paying tribute to - I love the Velvet Amber one, but apparently it's a Chanel No. 5 dupe and I don't really smell the resemblance! But as an inexpensive perfume which smells lovely, I highly recommend it!

I love Noted Aromas and I do find them to be excellent dupes - their Oxford scent is a dead ringer for Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia.

I recently bought J.lo Glow as a throwback to my teenage years and was a bit underwhelmed - I don't find the scent very strong and in my experience it doesn't last well.
