Anyone stop using make up after using tretinoin

and if so how long have you been using it for? I really want to stop wearing foundation and make up but my skin isn't great and I don't have the confidence to not wear it. Anyone felt like me and was able to stop after prolonged use with tret?

Hi yes I can often go without foundation now after a long time on tret. I do still wear blusher and lippy though as otherwise I look like a corpse 😂

Yep, I often go without make up now. I have a history of never leaving the house without make up. I receive lots of compliments on my skin now. What products are you using currently?

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/07/2025 18:36

I ditched the foundation in favour of a bit of tinted moisturiser since I started using tret. Love it. Been using it a couple of years now maybe? Or between one and two years-ish. Get a lot of compliments on my skin.

Yeah I've been using tret for a year and my skin is usually clear enough to not need makeup. I do occasionally get little bumpy breakouts and I've not figured out whats causing it, possibly when I've changed products though (moisturiser mainly).

Which tinted moisturiser do you use?

Love Erborian, the CC cream mainly. They also do a Dull Correct CC cream (purple tube), and a Red Correct CC cream (green tube), both excellent. Haven’t needed foundation since I discovered them, touch of concealer under the eyes max.

I’m in the market for some new make up basically and I’m looking for a lighter alternative to foundation which I’m thinking to reserve for nights out and special occasions rather than every day use. I’ll check it out, thanks 😍

Where do you buy tret from?? I’ve read a lot about it but where do people get it from??

PeonyPatch · 23/07/2025 22:57

I think most people get it via subscriptions from dermatitca and skin+me

So my main purpose of focussing on my skin is to get the real glow so I wear very very light makeup and that also rarely if required and here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
la roche posay spf
Evening:
la roche posay moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel
