Gents suit buying help

I need to try and order a suit for DS who is 17 and currently away and won't be back until the day before it's needed. I am looking at Next. Trousers are fine. I know his size but it's the jacket I am stuck with. DS is 6'2. He's a 30 inch waist so tall but slim with broad shoulders. Jackets come in sizes 32, 34, 36 etc. Can anyone offer any help on sizing or if you've got a male in your family the same size ish? Thanks.

How broad is broad? DS needs to measure his chest to find out his jacket size.
For example, DS is 6'1", 30" waist, 15½ shirt and takes a M, 38 or 40 Jacket, depending on the cut.
You might need to get extra long sleeves too.
An idea might be to buy two sizes and return the size not needed.

DS isn't broad, but similar height and waist, 15" neck. He takes a 36 jacket and I buy the longer length if available.

I agree with the PP that buying a couple of sizes is the way forward.

Thanks very much. You’ve both given me a starting point with jacket sizing. I’ll order a few for him coming home.

I know you said Next, but came back to add that DS likes the fit at Massimo Dutti. They have a sale on atm.

DH was a slim 6'3" and only German brands fitted him without alterations.
