After biting my nails for 50 years…

… I’ve managed to stop and let them grow a bit.

I’m just not very sure what to do with them now. They are kind of wide and quite weak, especially round the edges. I don’t think I want them much longer. But what shape should I be aiming for? And how to achieve it? How do I stop them getting too long but keep them in a nice shape?

i know I sound clueless, but honestly after 50 years of nibbled nails I am!

Weirdly me too OP! 30 years though. I got quite sick a month or so ago and the thought of germs on my nails after made something click in my head and I just… stopped. It’s amazing isn’t it!

Take “ancient and brave true collagen”op! I have also chewed really badly for 50 yrs and my god it makes them strong! So amazing 🤩
Then get a nice manicure! 💅🏼

I'm a nail biter too, have tried to stop so many times. Sometimes I stop for a couple of months and then something triggers me and I start biting again. I've tried so many things and nothing works.

I realised yesterday that all but my little fingers nails actually have white on them and are nice and smooth and I've not bitten them for a couple of weeks. My little fingers are still a mess. I'm currently picking the skin round them though.🤮😞.

This thread brings me hope though.

Oh and gel polish wrecked my toe nails, so avoid gel polish.
