I love sunglasses, but how many is too many to take on a one week beach holiday?

I don't think you can have too many?? You need airport ones that look cool, lightweight ones for when it's boiling and you have to do stuff, very dark ones for spying on people undetected by the pool. Ones for the evening sun that are smart. Aviators can get broken so maybe take a spare pair.

That’s mad, you have just described my four pairs that I’m contemplating whittling down to two. You are saying i can take all of them?
Can the super cool airport ones also be the smart evening ones?
I have some acetate framed aviators with polarised lenses that are light and compact for pool and beach. So it’s a choice between:

  1. Gold frames with graduated tint (smart and minimalist)
  2. Oversized black frames and lenses (perfect for spying but massive case)
  3. Slightly cat eye Retro cream/tan acetate frames (so cool)
  4. all of the above

spying on people undetected by the pool

😂 it’s never undetected. Everyone (if they care) is well aware what’s going on behind the big dark sunglasses

Slightly cat eye Retro cream/tan acetate frames

These sound fabulous. What brand are they? (Fellow sunglasses addict)

WorriedRelative · 19/07/2025 08:56

Take them all.

I took two pairs on my last holiday. On day 2 my polarised ones spontaneously snapped (nothing touching them, just heard a loud crack) leaving me with just one pair for the rest of the holiday which is both stressful and gives me sore ears.

It’s these:

although they haven’t photographed them well because there is a solid cream edge around the tan that you can’t really see in the photos.

Gorgeous. Yes it has to be a solid cream edge, they look like transparent edges in these photos.
