Wedding Guest Dress

I need some inspiration. I have a wedding to attend in 2 weeks. I was planning to wear a green lace self portrait dress that I bought on Vinted. However I have realised that it's going to be too warm as the fabric is heavy.

I am 45, 164cm tall, weigh 75kg, so usually around a size 14, with dark hair and pale skin. I am pear shaped so look best when my waist is emphasised and my hips are skimmed over. I am happy with either a dress or skirt & top combination but jumpsuits don't work on me. I don't like anything tight round my neck. Budget is up to £250 and would consider renting something.

I need natural fabrics as I'm peri menopausal and constantly too hot & sweaty. I've looked at Reiss, Ted Baker, Karen Millen, Self Portrait, Reformation, Ba&sh. I tend to go for plain fabrics but would consider print although I'm not massively keen on florals. I like most colours. I'd like to look modern and edgy rather than traditional. The wedding is in a hotel and should be pretty laid back rather than formal.

I'd love some suggestions if you think you can help.

Obviously they also have other dresses!

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think?

Maybe this could be a possibility?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

The Me&Em one is closest to my style, I even have a patterned version of that dress saved to my style inspiration. Unfortunately it’s 100% Polyester so I can’t wear it in summer.

The LK Bennet one is a lovely colour, the fabric says it’s a viscose silk mix which is great but then says 100% polyester, so I wonder if it is lined with polyester. I think I’m going to have this problem a lot given my budget, maybe rental is the way forward.

Id not heard of the company daydress so it’s good to find a company that I hadn’t heard of before. I particularly love their pyjamas!

Sorry @WinbourneflightI didn’t check the fabric composition, at that price I assumed it would be a silk crepe 🙄

Someone recommended Palava on another thread. Natural fabrics, lots of fit and flare dresses and although they are mostly print, the designs are quite offbeat and definitely not MOR florals.

Women's Vintage Style Dresses & Jumpsuits | Made in England

Palava's dresses feature our own hand-illustrated prints and are made from 100% natural fabrics like cotton, linen, and Tencel. Made ethically in small batches in London. Zero waste.
