Hi all: I'm having a crisis of confidence; I've lost 5 stone recently and have no idea what dress/jumpsuit would suit me. I'm a size 8 top and 10 bottom half with an hourglass shape. The wedding is this weekend so I need to get a move on. Pic attached I am on the left with jeans on. Any ideas what kind of outfit might suit me? I hate my legs so want to keep them covered but open to showing arms etc. thanks so much

I am not good at suggestion stuff, i just wanted to say well done on your weight loss. You look great and with that figure you could wear anything. How tall are you and what is your budget? What colours do you like? Where is the wedding ( how posh/casual will any outfit need to be?)

Myusername2015 · 15/07/2025 19:14

Thank you for the reply! Invite says below the knee dresses and not in light blue/white. Men in cocktail dress so I guess pretty formal. Budget £300 I guess. I just don't even know where to start looking and I've left it so late!

I'm trying to keep your post bumped! Are you looking at online or shops in person? Have you looked at the other threads on here where people have made lots of suggestions? I'm wondering if you have seen anything at all you quite like?

TheLeadbetterLife · 15/07/2025 19:22

You'd be cutting it too fine for online shopping I think, so what shops are near you? Are you in a city?

Myusername2015 · 15/07/2025 19:42

yes I'm in Birmingham so access to Selfridges and the like ..I know I have to sort it tomorrow but I'm dreading it..I'd love darker colours with some kind of flowers or the like.,I think I look better in jumpsuits .Would either of these two options be too casual (with a head piece) ?

What colours do you like? Would you prefer plain or a print?

Reformation has great wedding guest dresses. There are a few that are the sort of thing you’re looking for - midi or maxi and floral. You could get some to try with next day delivery!

Can’t believe you’ve left it so late! You could have had months of fun … Anyway, Selfridges?

Still looking …

Well … Selfridges has been denuded of decent frocks. Everything up to £325 is either vile or totally unsuitable for your purposes. 🤷‍♀️

Trying to think which other shops might be worth trying. If HN has a sale on at the moment …
