T shirt to wear under dress - need to alter neckline

I have a sleeveless dress, which I like, but dont like having my upper arms out.

I bought a t shirt to wear underneath. The neckline of the t shirt is too high. I need to lower the t shirt neckline, can I just... well cut out the one on the t shirt?

To me its logical. And should not be a problem, am I missing something?

I wouldn't put a t shirt under it and wear an unbuttoned thin shirt over instead

I have two pairs of "sleevies ", I think they are called, from M&S. So I no longer need a t.shirt under sleeveless dresses.

If you wore a white t-shirt underneath, the neck lines would just look layered rather than odd?

For the sake of a few pounds - T shirts are cheap - I would just buy another one with an appropriate neckline. Or wear those sheer sleeves as someone suggested.
