Hate my stretch marks! What can I do?

I have awful stretch marks, they look like a road map as they go in all different directions and they cover all over from the tops of my thighs to the top of my bum cheeks.

The skin is also loose and untoned and the stretch marks are from puberty and two pregnancies. So multiple stretch marks all over this area of my body.

I’ve tried microneedling in the past and I don’t think it made much difference, especially for how much it cost.

I hate them so much and want to do something about them. I’m not a tatto person and I don’t have any, but at this point I’m thinking would a tattoo cover up make me feel more confident by covering them or would laser improve them?

Please help, it’s really depressing me and I’m in a lovely new relationship but I’m avoiding being naked around him unless it’s dark or the lights are dimmed. Plus I would also like to feel confident to go to the beach and swimming.

I will try and upload a picture later.

Anyone have any suggestions or tried similar things?

I honestly don’t think there’s anything you can do.

Maybe focus on feeling better about yourself on other ways, and perhaps a by-product of that will be a new-found respect for your body and less focus on a physical attribute?

Eat well, exercise more, get stronger, read more, buy new clothes, whatever it is.

I think the only approach here is to reframe how you feel about yourself body, not how one part of it looks.

They’ll fade to silver and become barely noticeable. I don’t think that there’s any cosmetic procedure that will fix them.

I developed stretch marks from about 13. Thighs, bum, breasts and back of knees. I absolutely hated them! Over the years, I tried all manner or creams and oils. Rose hip oil, bio oil and creams marketed for stretch marks. Nothing made any difference.

They do eventually fade from the purple colour to silver, but I still hated them. I even had a female GP do a breast exam and asked how many children I had- Well, I don't have any! 🙁

I've read about silicone gel which comes on a tube or silicone sheets. They take months to work, and work better on raised scars like keloid scarring. The only other treatment that might work is laser therapy. You'd need to see a dermatologist though. I wouldn't recommend a beautician type treatments. Some may smooth the skin or feel nice, but I doubt they'd actually help the visual aspect of them. A spray tan can help hide them.

I'm in my 40's now and come to terms with them, but am still conscious of them when swimming etc.
