Its by my dentist (assume they are up to speed with facial anatomy....) - its for 3 areas with a follow-up appointment 2 weeks later - all in £390?

I had Botox for the first time recently, with a private GP, and paid £175 for three areas and the follow up appointment- so seems expensive to me.

Im not an expert though and I don’t doubt it varies a lot from area to area. I’m in South Yorkshire.

Really expensive ime. Decent clinics near me would be £250. One man bands £175.

EggyBreads · 06/07/2025 15:43

That’s expensive. I’m in the south east and pay £200 for three areas. I see a nurse, for a doctor I’d be looking at more like £275.

I'm an aesthetic nurse.
Botox costs approximately £80-90 per vial. You will most probably get treatment for three areas from one vial depending upon your muscle strength/age/skin condition.
So factoring in the diluent and needles, sharps and ancillaries, 3 areas costs your practitioner £100 to administer to you, on average.
Obviously if you need more botox it will cost your practitioner more, Botox is a POM and so is prescribed for each patient and if you need more botox then the cost is an extra vial so £160-180.
Anything else is simply profit.
A skilled injector should also be charging for their time and expertise. However, that does seem a bit steep im

I pay £225 for a doctor (GP) to do it (including top-up 2 weeks later) in the north west.

Thanks all this is really helpful. I'm in SE (Home Counties not Mayfair) - so I will shop around. If anyone has any recommendations within 20 mile radius of Sth Bucks - please DM me.
