Wardrobe clear out: should I keep these?

I'm 46.

Can I make these shoes work with any modern looks? Lost a bit of confidence on putting looks together now.

They are comfy 😂

Do you like them? Are they comfortable? Will you wear them again?
Do they spark joy?

ScratCat · 05/07/2025 18:45

Unless you plan to go to a fancy dress party as a pony, bin them!

😂😂 They ARE ugly

KnewYearKnewMe · 05/07/2025 20:07

Have you got room to keep them in storage? I always have regret when I bin comfy shoes!

MN is cracking me up tonight 😂

Yuck 🤮 time to go

Bridport · 05/07/2025 20:57

Might they work with this outfit?
Only kidding OP. If you like them and they're comfortable then wear 'em. Bugger what anyone else thinks.

Do they work with your style generally? Nothing will get 100% approval. Why are you considering getting rid of them?

HouseholdBudget · 05/07/2025 21:01

I am older than you. Were they ever in style?
Maybe it is me.

Ruthietuthie · 05/07/2025 21:02

Definitely get rid. They have had their moment, if you want to create more "modern" looks, as you suggest.
The toe is too rounded, the shape dated, the heel too high and too blocky. Plus the black (and the solidness of the whole thing) will drag any outfit down.
You can do better.

Gymbunny2025 · 05/07/2025 21:56

An odd combination of sandal and boot. I’m fascinated by them!

KaitlynnFairchild · 05/07/2025 21:59

I quite like them and have a vaguely similar pair although mine are all black suede including the heel with a gold buckle.

I am definitely not a paragon of fashion though!

Beebopwasthebest · 05/07/2025 22:38

Well, the verdict is in. After the equestrian themed party I am attending tomorrow they shall be vacating the premises.

I think, in the mists of time I wore them in a kind of skinny jeans/punk/goth/androgenous kind of look. I truly can't remember.

Thanks for smiles..they will make room for something new...and will probably be in fashion again in 18 months 😂😂😂😂

But how would they be styled with this. Both on the front legs or both at the back - or diagonally left front and right back or right front and left back?

(Yes I'm bored)

Bridport · 06/07/2025 09:38

@starfishmummy Obviously the horseysandalboots would be worn on the back legs. OP will need ponygloves for the front feet.

Definitely bin.

LochKatrine · 06/07/2025 10:16

However, keep the horse outfit, because I think that will be practical and versatile.

AcrylicMantaRay · 06/07/2025 10:25

They're a fascinating combination between bland and harmless with extremely ugly and offensive. Can't quite make up my mind but i am endlessly intrigued by them, like watching something i don't like but can't turn away from. If I saw you wearing those in an event I think I would follow you around with anthropological interest to see what else you'd get up to.

SecondSeatontheleft · 06/07/2025 14:24

I think you could wear them under trousers so that you wouldn’t see the strap at the back and that way they would look like boots.
