Morning, I’m moving abroad soon with my husbands job and it will be super hot where we are relocating to. I’ve recently been selling quite a lot of my own personal items including clothes and jewellery that no longer serve me and I would like to put the money towards a new bag…! I am after a summer style cross body mini bag for when it is just me and my 2 year old and I need somewhere to put my phone and cardholder safe when au don’t have pockets (I usually just use a coat or jeans pockets here in the uk!). I was in Selfridges the other day and debating getting one of the Chloe woody bags either the basket bag, the mini woody or the small woody.
The small woody is the biggest bag and I fear it looks too big on me? I could comfortably fit all my essentials in it though including some wet wipes and a nappy for my 2 year old if we were going without our travel pram (otherwise I stick all the baby stuff under the pram). The mini is the smallest option and fits my iPhone 13pro, my card holder, keys and probably not much else. The basket option which is made of raffia is roomier inside than the mini woody and I could most likely fit some sunglasses in and an SPF stick. the basket option also closes at the top with a drawstring whereas the woody mini and small are both fully open top styles. I’m not too bothered about security as where we are going is meant to be super safe but I fear with the mini for example that my things could easily fall out if bending down for my toddler etc?
Out of all the bags I preferred how the mini woody sits on me. I think the basket option is sitting possibly too high and the strap is fixed so can’t be adjusted.
I also really like the Loewe slit pochette which I didn’t try on. It zips up so v.practical and I do really want a raffia bag as have been tempted by one for ages but couldn’t justify as don’t go on holiday ever since we had children.
Or should I just save my money and get a high street option like the whistles raffia cross body which I’ve also been eyeing up too?! It’s not real leather like the Chloe options, but it does close with a magnetic closure by the looks of it and looks quite roomy for a mini crossbody without being too bulky and could definitely fit some sunglasses, card holder and my phone.
