Gladiator walking sandals?

I seem to have reached a stage in my life where I look longingly at people wearing hiking sandals… they look so comfy and light.

I really want some gladiator style ones, with adjustable or elasticated straps, but can only find Tevas which I have tried and the bungee cords cut into my feet and/or they flap around and are not secure.

Has anyone seen any that will make the transition to comfort footwear easier to bear? Size 7, would prefer black or brown.

These aren’t walking sandals but I once had to buy a pair or emergency sandals on a holiday in London where I was walking what seemed like a hundred miles a day and I got some ‘forever comfort’ gladiator sandals from Next and they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

I have 3 pairs of the Next ones, they're amazing, you can still get them on Vinted

Thank you both- do you have a link or a pic? Are they different from the ones currently on the website?

Thanks, those are nice- but I want some I can walk miles and miles in that won’t rub and are light and squishy, which is why I end up making eyes at hiking sandals on the tube…

Thanks @jaws33- I have tried those and thought they were the answer, but alas they are somehow both too tight and too loose on my feet. The elastic digs in and they flap on my heels like flip flops. Shame, because they’re lovely!

they do flap

i've been eyeing up these

@jaws33 I see the appeal, but I just can’t get on with the traditional hiking sandals shape…

Thanks for trying too @HollandC but I do want a proper sandal and I can’t do pink I’m afraid.

Terrible condition but these are the Next ones, it was the first picture I could find!

Ive just ordered these as an investment. I find them really comfortable but no adjustment over the instep so I find them a bit on the roomy side for hiking in, perfect still for a city break type walking.

Thanks everyone for the links- there seem to be either great gladiator sandals or great hiking sandals but not both!

Appreciate people looking though.
