Wedding guest dress help!

Hi there,

I'm going to my close friends wedding in August and I really need help finding a dress to wear!

I had a baby 8 months ago and I'm quite conscious of my stomach area and the top of my arms/armpit area (not that I can blame the baby on that) I don't even know what size I am really, probably an 18-20.

I'm not massively into dresses but would really like to feel comfortable and confident in something! The wedding is fairly casual and laid back, so nothing too fancy.

What colours suit you, what's your style and shape?

@Chungai I'm probably quite round? I have a big bum/thighs and stomach, I do go in at the waist, my boobs are probably a C cup.

Before pregnancy i lived in skinny jeans, baggy tops and boots. I feel like I need a whole new wardrobe, that actually fits and suits me!

I'm very pale, long dark hair, so probably no pastels? I love cobalt blue. I wear mostly dark colours.

Have a look on Nobody's Child and Roman websites. They have some lovely flattering dresses.
I've got one from Roman for a casual wedding next month. It's very vibrant so I'm not linking it for posters to rip it to shreds as I like it and it suits me. It has a 4 inch deep band of shirring elastic around the waist so it shows my shape without clinging and it's really flattering. Definitely worth a look.

What colour eyes / tone skin (cool or warm)?

I love a hope and ivy wrap dress, they’re so flattering and cover the top of your arms with the flutter sleeves, so would be ideal I think? Lots of different patterns available and you’re likely to find a bargain on Vinted if you look. I think people generally suggest sizing up, particularly if you’re bigger busted. I’ve just bought ‘The Julia’ for a wedding but this one is perhaps more your colour?
