Who uses one of those little razors to shave the peach fuzz on their face?

I’m seriously tempted, I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face. Took a selfie in the sunshine and it was really noticeable. I keep getting adverts for those razors, and women spraying their faces with something to make all the hairs stand out before they shave them off. But I’m worried that once I start it will become another chore I have to keep up with. Anyone done this and regretted it, or is it a good idea?? Thanks

I do it - just use a blade from FFS which has the handle and then you get replacement blades. It's a lot of plastic otherwise.
Theres no need to spray anything on your face to make the hairs stand up - you can see them in the mirror. I think my skin looks smoother after doing it but I'm pretty lax with it and tend to just do it when I'm getting dressed up for something or just wanting to look really together. Hair grows back just the same as before.

Just use a gentle dry razor, your face will look 'sharp' again and it'll last 3/4 weeks.

P.S. no one else will notice but it does make you feel good 😊

DustyTangerine · 02/07/2025 22:44

Yes I use them. Does the job nice and quickly

Sprogonthetyne · 02/07/2025 22:49

I use one, technically it is another job in the routine but for me it's 2 minutes every few weeks, so not a big deal. I don't use any kind of spray, just go over the fuzzy bits dry whenever they start to look noticeable.

SisterTeatime · 02/07/2025 22:54

Yes I started doing it recently, just a clean dry face and a clean (sanitised) dry Tweezerman blade, looking into a magnifying mirror. It does make my skin look better and takes two minutes.

thearchers · 02/07/2025 22:56

Oh thanks everyone, I thought you were all going to say don’t do it, you’ll end up with a full beard 😂 OK I’m going to try it.

I do it now and then, I love it. It's not just the peach fuzz, it's a great exfoliation in general. I had this patch of skin that was really dry and nothing seemed to help it until I done this. After maybe the fourth or fifth time, the skin seemed totally renewed.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 23:06

I do it. Moisturiser soaks in really well afterwards, and make up definitely sits better.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/07/2025 23:07

I do it twice a week - I’m white but have been told I have “hair like an Indian woman” (by an Indian woman). I use an oil - just a cheap Boots Botanics one - and a fresh blade each time. I often pop on one of those collagen masks straight after for extra glow.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/07/2025 23:08

They're great for fuzz.

MaidOfSteel · 02/07/2025 23:16

I hate the peach fuzz so use a dry blade. It’s only a couple of minutes a week and the hair doesn’t grow back thicker at all.

I get a pack via Amazon from a company who have a free return service for the (already recycled) plastic handles.

Rhaidimiddim · 02/07/2025 23:20

Does it encourage thicker regrowth though, over time?

24Dogcuddler · 02/07/2025 23:22

I use a Flawless electronic one. Really good and you can buy replacement heads recommended every 6 months or so.

RightOnTheEdge · 02/07/2025 23:33

I do it every so often just when I notice the peach fuzz.
It's very satisfying and kind of shocking how much comes off!
It does make makeup look better.

Not in my experience! I was worried about that too but it really doesn't grow back thicker or darker or anything like that.

Whomanity · 03/07/2025 07:59

I use the Tweezerman Facial Razor to get rid of tiny stray grey hairs encroaching on my forehead. And it’s the best thing for between nose and lip, where my skin’s too sensitive for anything else.

It’s also a lovely, weighty little implement that’s a bit of a joy to use.

KaitlynnFairchild · 03/07/2025 08:01

I do it every now and again, usually if I am going somewhere.

Be careful when you get started. I looked like I had been attacked by an angry cat the first time!

TheChosenTwo · 03/07/2025 08:04

I did it once, never bothered again but it was absolutely fine, nothing grew back any differently. Just realised I didn’t mind my peach fuzz, the only time i can see it is when I’m brushing my teeth and the sun shines through the window at the same time!

DeafLeppard · 03/07/2025 08:04

I just use a bog standard disposable razor! No difference in regrowth.

TheOGCCL · 03/07/2025 08:17

I use them, helps make up sit better and there’s no harsh regrowth. I tried it on my arms once and again no weird regrowth.

isitmeamithedrama · 03/07/2025 08:39

it frothing back thicker is a myth. It the same hair that comes back
I do it when I can be bothered, usually once a month or 6weeks. Products absorb better and make up sits better when it’s done.
just don’t run out of the ones designed for it and use a scalpel! I looked like I’d been mauled by a cat!
I use face oil, doing it dry irritates my skin

EffinMagicFairy · 03/07/2025 08:46

Yes, I recently used one to come away on holiday, since the girl who does my facial waxing was away. Am a convert, quick and easy to do and will probably keep on top of my peach fuzz rather than DD 17, telling me I’m growing a beard, am blond so not noticeable until I hit the sunlight!

worriedMiL33 · 03/07/2025 09:11

My concern has always been that it makes your face feel prickly, if you stroke your hand against the direction of hair growth?

Just reminded of a dear friend who must have been "shaving" her upper lip, and when we kissed hello, I could feel the stubble.

CountryQueen · 03/07/2025 10:20

Oh god. I was just about to have a go and then you mentioned prickly stubble. No thank you

Whomanity · 03/07/2025 10:58

If a bit of stubble on an upper lip is the very worst one can ever say of a friend - I don’t think it’s too bad.

Obviously not aware of having any myself.

I wouldn’t use it on dry skin though - I use my foaming cleanser to provide lather.
