Who uses one of those little razors to shave the peach fuzz on their face?

I’m seriously tempted, I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face. Took a selfie in the sunshine and it was really noticeable. I keep getting adverts for those razors, and women spraying their faces with something to make all the hairs stand out before they shave them off. But I’m worried that once I start it will become another chore I have to keep up with. Anyone done this and regretted it, or is it a good idea?? Thanks

@DiamondThrone

"There is no "stubble". Shaving a hair does not magically make it grow thicker from the follicule"

I know this Diamond but when the hair is cut it leaves a blunt tip, doesn't it?

I see now some have no problem wrt stubble though.

I just can’t believe it doesn’t grow back stronger/ would waxing not be better?

That’s a myth. The ends are now blunt so it feels that way but hair removal doesn’t make it grow back thicker. Hair is dead.

Comedycook · 03/07/2025 19:05

There's no stubble for me...I can feel the hair has a blunter end but it's not thicker, darker or more visible. I was very scared before.

I hate the peach fuzz so use a dry blade. It’s only a couple of minutes a week and the hair doesn’t grow back thicker at all.

I get a pack via Amazon from a company who have a free return service for the (already recycled) plastic handles.

I did exactly the same. Was worried it would grow back into a stubbly beard or I’d get ingrown spots but it’s been fine. I just have blonde peach fuzz but a lot in recent years.

Lifestooshort71 · 03/07/2025 21:53

I use one regularly on my fuzz and it doesn't grow back any differently, no blunt edges because it really is just bum fluff. I would never use it on proper facial hair though so I Veet my tache and pluck my chin hairs - do the latter before you defuzz.

MoonWoman69 · 04/07/2025 00:20

I love the dermablades! I do mine once a week and there is no stubble and no thicker grow back! Do it gently the first time you do it and use a gentle moisturiser afterwards too! It's not a blade as such, more like a serrated edge, but it works really well. The peach fuzz ran through my mums side of the family and it's nice to not have a furry face!
Edited to say you don't need the spray to highlight the hair, I got one with my kit and have never used it!

Gowlett · 04/07/2025 00:32

Do you skim the face with it, or touch the skin, as in actual shaving? I’m worried about blunt hair, or is fuzz too fine for that?

Fuzz is too fine for that but it does help to pluck any proper whiskers out first (in my 70s!). You scrape it slowly and gently across the skin - it says do it only one way but stubborn bits you can go back and forth - and if your skin is a bit wrinkly just use fingers to tauten it. It also has a gentle exfoliating effect and makes any foundation/cc cream slide on smoothly.

You touch the skin, sort of gentle scraping motions in the direction of the hair growth. Have a look at some YouTube videos.

Fuzz doesn’t give spikes. I do have some thicker hairs but a couple of days after I’ve shaved I feel around for any spikes and just pluck them out.

ThisWayLiesMadness · 04/07/2025 10:29

It leaves stubble if you do not do it regularly, DH noticed😯

It might leave stubble if you do a hairy tache or chin bristles but I've never heard of bum fluff becoming stubble, not even on reviews away from MN.

'No, removing peach fuzz (vellus hair) does not cause stubble. Stubble is a result of shaving terminal hair, which is thicker and coarser than vellus hair. Vellus hair, or peach fuzz, is very fine and soft, and will not grow back thicker or stubbly when removed.'

I have facial hair threaded off, though im not particularly hairy. I’m too worried that I’d Van Gogh myself if left with a blade! It’s extremely effective and I feel energised thereafter. Bengali sisters do mine, and because of them my eyebrows are a thing of beauty

Livpool · 04/07/2025 14:52

I do it about once a month - my skin is really dry and I think it helps my moisturiser sink in better. I’ve never had any stubble and it doesn’t grow back any different to the way it was before.

I usually shape my eyebrows at the same time and it’s the same thing

User0311 · 04/07/2025 14:58

I use them! Il never not. I feel a lot better for doing it!

thearchers · 04/07/2025 18:08

OK so I have just ordered this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HMVGWQZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I am too scared about letting myself loose with a sharp blade so I’m going to try this first and see how I get on. Thanks for all the advice everyone, quite looking forward to using it!

Well I've just copied you and ordered the same. Best of luck to us both! Please let me know how you get on and I'll do the same.

thearchers · 04/07/2025 20:05

@PerzivalWill do! Fingers crossed it works

Does it encourage thicker regrowth though, over time?

I know this is a thing people say but it can't can it. otherwise everyone would shave everything in order to get thicker hair.

Ifeellikeateenageragain · 05/07/2025 14:56

Is threading not better for peach fuzz? I haven't done either yet but am intending to do so in the next few weeks.

WayneH · 05/07/2025 16:11

Go shave, its about time. Gillette is a good brand.

Tiffypops · 05/07/2025 16:20

Never buy from social media, Amazon is pretty much a only safe place to get stuff. I tried veet once very quick on and off and it worked 👍

fuzzyfeltfan · 05/07/2025 16:21

I occasionally use my battery lady shaver on mine lol. don't think it grows back any thicker.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/07/2025 16:25

I do. It’s so satisfying seeing all
the fizz come off. But they do go blunt after oy one use.

Bluedenimdoglover · 05/07/2025 20:24

Apparently Marilyn Monroe had peach fuzz but would not remove it as it softened the look of her face in photos. Don't know if it's true, but apparently did not worry her!

WingBingo · 05/07/2025 23:01

Hollywood Browsers are great. It’s not a razor but still does the job. Cheap too.
