Who uses one of those little razors to shave the peach fuzz on their face?

I’m seriously tempted, I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face. Took a selfie in the sunshine and it was really noticeable. I keep getting adverts for those razors, and women spraying their faces with something to make all the hairs stand out before they shave them off. But I’m worried that once I start it will become another chore I have to keep up with. Anyone done this and regretted it, or is it a good idea?? Thanks

Does it encourage thicker regrowth though, over time?

No.

WhatNoRaisins · 03/07/2025 11:07

I only need to do it a few times a year. It's a myth that it comes back thicker.

Perzival · 03/07/2025 13:45

Going on holiday next week and want to try this. Does anyone recommend a blade or razor to try please?

MedievalNun · 03/07/2025 14:18

I use a small battery thing from JML that I got to keep my lovely ‘moustache’ under control. I’ve been using it for several years now and I’ve noticed that the hair on my upper lip is much finer and less of it (the ones at the edge of my mouth could still be used for brushes, mind). I tend to use it on peach fuzz too, maybe once a month now. The hair didn’t grow back thicker either.

ThisWayLiesMadness · 03/07/2025 14:20

I did but DH moans he can feel stubble and its like kissing Desperate Dan🙄

OriginalUsername2 · 03/07/2025 14:28

I do! Every Monday is de-fluff the face day.

isitmeamithedrama · 03/07/2025 16:49

@Perzivali just use the kitsch derma-planing razors on Amazon. Think they’re £7 for 12

Yes, do it regularly. TK Maxx do good, cheap dermaplaners.

If a bit of stubble on an upper lip is the very worst one can ever say of a friend - I don’t think it’s too bad.

Obviously not aware of having any myself.

I wouldn’t use it on dry skin though - I use my foaming cleanser to provide lather.

I use it on dry skin. Use a magnifying mirror so you cam see what you’re doing.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 03/07/2025 17:36

I have friends who swear by it.
Occasionally I shave my arm hair, its really fine and blonde and shaving it has never made it grow any different.

DiamondThrone · 03/07/2025 17:38

I do. I bought a dermaplane blade but was too scared to use it.

So then I bought a Bruan electric razor for laydees, like an electric one for men but much smaller. Absolutely love it. No fuzz, nice shiny and smooth face. I am 59 and all the peach fuzz was ageing me.

Beautifulcreatures2 · 03/07/2025 17:58

I just can’t believe it doesn’t grow back stronger/ would waxing not be better?

Comedycook · 03/07/2025 18:00

I do...I was terrified it would make my skin break out and give me a beard but it's actually great. I used to wax my upper lip, chin and sideburns but the fuzz was all over my cheeks. My dc used to comment in the car that they could see it in the sunlight....!

Suednymph · 03/07/2025 18:00

Me and I used it on my forearms too.

@Whomanity

absolutely no judgement from me, she's a beautiful human.

I'm reluctant to try these little razors myself, purely because of the possibility of stubble.

No-one on this thread seems to have addressed it though.

There is no "stubble". Shaving a hair does not magically make it grow thicker from the follicule.

Think about it - men shave. Do all men have the same stubble? Imagine they shave further than their dark stubble - do they end up with stubble all over their face?!

Suednymph · 03/07/2025 18:23

NO stubble.

cramptramp · 03/07/2025 18:26

Just use a men’s 4 bladed razor. Much more efficient than those little razors. It definitely makes a difference to my make up going on more smoothly. Hair can’t grow back thicker.

aWeeCornishPastie · 03/07/2025 18:28

I don’t use one of the devices I just pluck with a pair of tweezers

OtherS · 03/07/2025 18:30

I use a Braun facial epilator, which is obviously more painful than shaving, and may be harsher on the skin? I steam first to open pores. Does a great job apart from the really thick, stubborn ones, I still need tweezers and a magnifying mirror for those. I don't think I'd want to shave them though as however short they are I know they're there, and get very impatient for them to grow enough to be tweezed.

Giraffe007 · 03/07/2025 18:31

I love my soft peachy facial fuzz! I wouldn't dream of removing it, it is part of who I am, I have naturally dark hair, black eyelashes and eyebrows, so the peach-like facial fuzz is part of the package.Maybe I'm strange though....

Mine grows back exactly the same as before it was shaved off. It’s not thicker and not darker

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 03/07/2025 18:37

i do this but I don’t use a special tool, just a regular cheap Bic razor or similar. Do it about once a week and follow up with some kind of acid skin peel from The Ordinary and then finish with loads of face cream and finally a layer of jojoba oil. My face is so soft and smooth the following day.

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 03/07/2025 18:38

And oh yes totally agree, make up goes on a lot smoother
