I need to update my sunglasses. What’s in style? I like black frames

Have a look at the New Arrivals on the Sunglass Hut website. Quite a few fine metal frames this season but also new colours or updated versions of classics (how many variants of Wayfarer can be left?).

But just go for what you like and what suits your face shape and budget. There are no rules!

Ones which provide adequate protection from the sun.

Randolph Engineering, excellent lenses and a selection of frame sizes.

I have prescription ones so whatever is reasonable at spec savers when I buy my glasses on 2for1 - varifocals so £££ only can afford to replace every 3 years or so

Do you wear contacts? I have astigmatism and need varifocals and have a pair of prescription sunglasses but toric lenses work much better for me. I use monovision, so one eye for distance and one for reading which you adjust to very quickly. And then I have endless choice of sunglasses.

Depends so much on the size and bone structure
I have the perfect pair from Next Wayfarer style
Also lovely sturdy black cat eye( look nicer than they sound from Quay( mid price)

It seems a smaller shape, like these, is the more fashionable shape this year (doesn't have to be these particular ones, of course, but just as an example). The slightly smaller, slightly elongated shape has replaced the bigger ones of previous years. (I am still wearing the bigger ones, as I love them and they are still good and unscratched, but I am noticing more of this newer shape). And the Ray-Ban aviator style seems to be a classic, if they suit you.

I have a couple of pairs from Ace & Tate but my favourite have been a black frame pair with tints from Aicho which I got a couple of months ago - half the price of A&T and feel premium. I've come to realise they have to have metal in the temple frames underneath the acetate or they feel super flimsy....which is what most of the high street brands sell e.g. M&S.
