hello all
not sure if it's just me but lately i've been struggling with what to wear
everything either feels too young or just plain dull
i'm in my 50s now and while i don't want to dress like a teenager i also don't fancy looking like i've given up

i used to enjoy putting outfits together but these days it's like i open the wardrobe and sigh
especially with this weather all over the place
would love to hear what others are wearing day to day that still feels a bit ‘you’ if that makes sense

any shops you've rediscovered or styles that just work
would be lovely to hear i'm not alone in this

I am feeling abit frumpy too but TBH its more down to the weather.
I cant deal with heat so am wearing whatever is going to be coolest (regardless of what it looks like!) and no make up, hair just out of the way....I dont care!

Generally though I dont consider my age (over 50) as a thing. I like vintage/retro, abit of goth or cottagecore, plaid, stripes, animal print. Favourite brands are Joanie and Disturbia.
No worries about looking too young or too dull....also no worries about looking stylish or classy!!LOL

I'm using 'dated' rather than frumpy. I need a bit of a refresh because shapes have changed slightly and I've not kept pace.

I actually quite enjoy the freedom this weather and this time of year offer to wander about in a weird conglomeration of bits and pieces. Today I walked to a distant Post Office in a big old bright white, printed

Simeon Farrar t shirt,

with an ancient brown linen Margaret Howell skirt and some huge clumpy battered brown leather Grenson boots. (Without socks!) Plus a twelve year old Toast straw basket. And sunglasses.

It was very throw on and go. And if my eyebrows weren’t sadly in need of tinting I would have been wearing no make up at all. This is me until at least mid-September; people will have to take me as they find me.

Should add I’m in my early 60s. And have no plans to look serious or workmanlike for the rest of the summer.
