Filing my nails

I'm 52 and have good nails. But... my problem is I don't like filing them myself but do like painting them.

Can I go to a nail bar and just ask for a manicure with no gels/acrylics or anything? I asked for a file and polish once and was told they don't do just polish anymore as no one wants it.

Depends on where you have tried.
Where I live beauty therapists within hairdressers will do manicures as well as gel polish/acrylics etc as they offer a variety of other beauty services.
But the ‘nail bar’ type places tend to only offer gel or acrylics.

Round here there aren't therapists in hairdressers sadly. Just lots of nail bars. I'd love to pop in weekly and just get my nails filed. Does anyone do this? Am I being weird?
