Underwear for those of us who don't do well in the heat

I have never ever coped well in the heat in this country (weirdly, when abroad it doesn't bother me. I suppose it's because I'm not trying to just live the daily life then!). I am a teacher in a school that can get ridiculously warm and we have no air conditioning. I use fans but I get so so uncomfortable - the feeling of being hot and sweaty just irritates me. I have always been like this - I would love to know the feeling of being cold all the time!

So in these times of muggy and gross weather that we are currently enjoying suffering through - does anyone have any bra recommendations to help me not feel like I have olympic swimming pools under each boob? I don't wear underwires as I hate them but would love some recommendations for bras that will help me feel a little less disgusting on the daily. I share a room with 25+ students for a few hours a day in classrooms that have windows entirely down one side and where the heat almost punches you in the face when you walk in.

I have almost conquered keeping my hair relatively tame and mostly keeping my make up on. If anyone can help me with the dreaded boob, and down there, sweat I would be eternally grateful. Is bamboo stuff worth the investment? I don't mind spending a bit if it means I will be slightly more comfortable throughout the day!

I find the Bamboo underwear the best so far. Boody is the brand I have and they have an up to 30% sale now but I think it ends in a day or two. Also I feel your pain!

I have boody and Bella bodies bras. I think boody is cooler but I find the bras shrink if you wash them in a normal wash, which they probably advise against in fairness but I cannot be doing with hand washing or separate washes for every day items.

I find the Bella bodies control pants ok but they feel very synthetic despite saying they are bamboo.

Have you tried a liberal roll of antiperspirant under boob?

NewsdeskJC · 28/06/2025 19:30

I wear Marks flexi fit
I apply deodorant stick first thing.
Game changer though is a large sheet of kitchen roll folded to line the underboob

I cut up microfibre cloths to go under my bra. And change bras 2 or 3 times a day. I don't think anything is going to stop you sweating there.

When I was breastfeeding and had oversupply I used to put the bamboo nappy boosters into my bra.

Amazingly I picked up a two pack of cotton non underwire bras in Sainsbury's today.

Very comfortable and usually I don't like their underwear.

I find the flexi fit bra, though comfortable, is sodden with sweat in extremely hot weather

I don't know anything useful about non-sweaty bras. But apparently the UK does feel hotter than places that are actually hotter than here temperaturr-wise as there is a humid cloud of moisture above us at all times. Unlike nice dry places.

myplace · 30/06/2025 17:21

Surprisingly, the chafing shorts made or tights type fabric are actually really cool, but you must wear them alone. They are instead of, not as well as, underwear.

INeedAnotherName · 30/06/2025 17:32

Roll on antiperspirant under boobs, where legs meet body, across forehead/where glasses sit.

I use folded tissue paper but I guess pp's kitchen roll could work too although I find it more "rustly".

Finally, if you are wearing a dress or skirt I can highly recommend mens boxers. They are a lot looser and can look like shorts.

Instead of? I couldn’t wear the snag shorts without undies. I tend to wear cycling shorts rather than those as they make me too hot. But not worn them without undies….

It’s a revelation.
suddenly becomes breatheable, instead of feeling like a shrink wrapped turkey. They have a little cotton gusset. A bigger cotton gusset would be better, mind…

The Boody undies are amazing - so comfy and do what they should!

have also got some step one bras which are great.

i don’t think I’ll ever beat this but this has all helped so much. The Boody dresses are also really nice!
