Alternative to Olay Complete Care moisturiser

I’m annoyed. I’ve been using Olay Complete Care since I was in my teens and they’ve gone and changed the formula. It does nothing but pill! I thought it was a duff bottle at first, so bought another smaller bottle but it does the same. I also thought it was me changing my cleanser and not washing it off properly. But no, reading the one star reviews at Boots it’s because they changed the bloody formula!

So I need a new moisturiser. Requirements: SPF, similar in consistency (runny not thick) and no fancy ingredients. I am allergic to some ingredients (I don’t know which ones), which results in me getting headaches, so I don’t want to spend a fortune trying a moisturiser I might react to. Any ideas?

Oh no! I’ve used it forever and haven’t noticed a change. What does ‘pill’ mean?

When it makes little while flecks/balls. Like a bad case of dandruff on your face!

The packaging now says ‘moisturise and glow’ and whatever they have done for the ‘glow’ has ruined the product.

I use the Olay 7 effects, usually off Amazon where it’s cheaper. It’s a really lovely cream, you can get day and night ones.

What ingredients cant you use? Simple have some lovely creams too.

Not sure what is going on with Olay right now, I put a post up earlier about my Olay total effects 7 in 1 CC cream having doubled in price.

Thank-you. The problem is that I’m not sure what I’m allergic to. There’s just so many ingredients in things. I end up having to try something and hope. I have to use a really basic shampoo that’s not great for my hair, because changing often results in headaches.

I just saw your post. How annoying for you! My No7 foundation has increased in price too, and I was really taken aback when I last bought it.

I only use the Olay tinted one in place of foundation if I'm putting makeup on that day so can deal with a price rise but a 100% increase is not on.

As for the regular day and night moisturisers, I'd seen lots of posts on here over the years about how good Lidl's Q10 ones are and bought them a few months ago to try out and I have to say I don't think I'll change back, they are really good.

Hi, i have just been googling when I came across this link. I have had the same problem with olay complete. I too thought it was a duff bottle but they have all been the same. I have used it for 20 years and have occasionally tried other products/brands but my skin hasn't responded well to them. I'm interested to know if you have had success finding a good replacement. I need something that is light, so creams dont work for me unfortunately.
