Got the dress but now overthinking hat and shoes and bag

I am planning to wear this dress to my son’s wedding

very happy with it. What colour would you go for shoes? And hat/fascinator? And bag? I know I don’t need to go with headwear but I want to!

@dumpydumpydumpdump I think you will find it difficult to match the colour. I’d go for cream flats and a cream bag. No need to be matchy matchy. I quite like wicker ones with cream handles. Just a dainty size.

Fascinator? I wouldn’t. Far more fashionable are wide brim boaters and smaller styles to complement your hair. There are companies like Hostie hats who make a wide variety of styles in different colours and trims. Or just grab an embellished hairband.

@dumpydumpydumpdump These are Hostie and can be made in a colour of your choosing from a vast menu. Or source something on Etsy. These styles are pretty good for 2025 though - judging by Ascot!

You could match a fascinator or hat to the teal / aqua in the dress or the navy in the handbag and shoes.

Navy and teal are a bit? Not great,

I'd think you could find teal sandals or shoes - Hotter maybe?

Then match your hat to your bag.

Or you could buy suede and get it dyed.

The dress has navy in it so I think it would look fine.

Paradox also does wide fit silver shoes with matching bags. I agree with trying to match a hat/fascinator to the dress. I'd prefer a hat myself but they don't suit some people.

The overriding colour of the dress isn’t navy. I think picking out navy is odd. MN loves silver but doesn’t get rafia, wicker or natural coloured products. Gold and silver is the go to but that makes a hat difficult. Nothing goes with it.

I would go with either cream shoes or possibly sliver, possibly a wedge as they are more comfortable than a heel. I went to a wedding recently and a lot of people were wearing fascinators , so they are still popular , but if you have hair that is suitable a beaded headband looks nice too. If you can match the lighter colour on the dress that would look lovely. Possibly your nails done to match as well.😂

@Sillyname63 popular isn’t the same as fashionable. They are cheap, hence accessible.
