First time bikini wax!

So I’m going away on 1st August. I am fed up of shaving bikini line for it to be back again in a few days and having red bumpy ugly areas!

So I want to brave a bikini wax. However I am scared and embarrassed!

I mean how long do I grow the hair for before? I have thick black hair. Do I wear knickers whilst they do it? How sore will it be after and how long does it take to come back? Will it last me a 10 day holiday?!

Worried I’ll end up with sore bits for holiday and it looking even worse! TIA!!

It sounds as if someone has done a bad job. But if the OP goes now, she’ll have time to opt out of the next appointment should things not work out.

I just assumed I had a bad reaction to it, I had used the same beauty therapist for leg and underarm waxing and was always brilliant. That’s why for the first time I’d definitely not leave it couple days before

As someone who doesn’t shave or wax down there at all ever. I feel like I can give good advice since last month I got my first ever bikini wax before my holiday. Firstly I only got the bikini line waxed since it began being visible and hairs poking out even when wearing a bikini. I kept all the other hair. I didn’t trim or anything before hand and that could have contributed to the pain so maybe that’s worth doing. I wore underwear when I got the waxing and just said tidy up all the parts the show in the underwear and she did that. So it wasn’t a full wax only took about 10 minutes. The pain was quite bad but went quickly. The redness went after about two days and only now has the hair started showing again! So definitely will last your whole holiday.

You could just use hair removal cream at home? Painless and have you have own privacy....

Those of you who have Brazilian or Hollywood - what do you then do about the hair inside your labia?

Mine is all off. I hold the lips apart as instructed and she gets it all.

It’s fabulous. I feel sooooo much cleaner with it all gone. I just have a little triangle at the front but it’s all gone inside and underneath.

Hot wax is a MUST. I get it all hot waxed and it doesn’t feel at all sensitive afterwards. I used to get it stripped waxed and felt bruised for at least 24 hours after!

I’ve only ever had one bikini wax and never again! I had red bumps which were really sore and then they turned to whiteheads it looked and felt awful!! And took over a week to go so for the first time I definitely wouldn’t go a couple of days before just incase something like that happened

Try again but with hot wax, not strip wax

They did use hot wax

Bikini wax is fine keep your pants on, honestly don't worry about trimming if they need to they will do it. Yes it smarts but it's really fine 4 strips maybe 6 strips and you'll be done.

if you want a Brazilian go to an intimate waxing specialist they really are better than a regular beautician. They do it all day every day, no up on all 4s, takes less than 15minutes, and they are very good at making you feel relaxed excellent hairdresser chat

Got a Brazilian yesterday, definitely do it, it’s so handy
