Weight loss and Botox…

I have lost 4 and a 1/2 stone since Jan this year (I’ve been on mounjaro for my diabetes) and no matter what I do my face and neck have aged drastically, I look and feel awful.

I am early 40’s - I have tried numerous creams retinol etc and nothing has helped - my neck is worse than my face

So I have been looking at Botox and just wondering if anyone had any tips/experiences? I roughly know what I want but has anyone done it and decided they didn’t like it?

I have booked an appointment at a fantastically recommended clinic in July

Botox will not improve saggy skin on the face and neck. It affects the muscles, which is what "freezes" the skin movements.

Look at your skin regime.

Are you thinking of fillers? I can't see how Botox would help.

Botox is brilliant but will only smooth forehead and next to eyes. The weight loss jabs do have this effect on the face. Could you put a little back on to balance it out?

I would wait a bit OP. I lost about 15kg a few years ago and my neck and breasts had loose skin as a result, but over time they've improved a lot. Don't rush into anything.

Also, you will have lost a lot of muscle as well as fat, so maybe start weight training, yoga, or anything resistance-based, as that will help tone under the skin and rebuild muscle. I also do face yoga, which does seem to fill out the face.

My skin care is really good but nothing seems to be helping it in fact it looks pretty rubbish since I switched some products out so I switched them back again

I am at my goal weight and on a maintenance dose now so to speak for my diabetes

I do yoga twice a week and walk the dogs daily I could add some weights in I guess but it’s not my body it’s just my face a neck

Doing weights or resistance is good for you regardless, especially for diabetes control, because muscle helps regulate blood glucose and insulin.

Anyway you can try face yoga, and see if that makes a difference. As I said, it took a long while for my neck skin to tighten up again, but it did. A clinic is just going to suggest fillers etc, which might be premature and (IMO) never look right.
