Graduation outfit 2025

What is an appropriate outfit for a graduation next month? Mid fifties, size 10-12 and 5’9, definitely more of a jeans and Tshirt gal than formal wear. Not a posh uni but want to look smart just have no idea what you wear to these things.

Is there no guidance from your uni? (Usually linked to instructions on how to reserve your gown.) Some insist on formal dress but I think most are more relaxed nowadays - so you really just want a dress, or a skirt / trousers and blouse that you’ll feel happy wearing beneath your gown (if you’re getting one?) You may need a top to which a gown can be attached but I don’t think it’s a major issue. Smart shoes you won’t trip over in. (Heels absolutely not necessary.)
