How do you know your skin tone?

I keep looking at foundations etc and i don't know how to determine my skin tone. I'm fair but I can't see any yellow or pink and have no idea if I'm warm or cool.

How do people know?!?!

Do you wear a foundation at the minute?
Have you ever used one and thought “that’s way too yellow?”
MAC do NW (cool) and NC (warm) so you can always pick say NW20 and NC20 of the same foundation and swatch them to see what works, or ask to be matched

No I don't, I use a BB cream.

I dont seem to be able to see what others can!

There are a number of ways you are supposed to be able to tell the one I was told was to look at the veins on the inside of your wrist , blue or purple = cool, more green = warm.

Yeah I think the veins is the best way! I think if you burn easily also you are cool.

You could be neutral too don’t forget.

Wow. So my veins are blue and I burn easily

But I wear hold jewellery - should I be wearing silver?!

Sounds like the Charlotte Tilbury online shade checker was right then
