Surfwear yes or no?

On a long weekend in Devon and have been to Woolacombe. The clothes in the surf shops take me back to my younger days and I love the whole surfer vibe, it all feels chilled and easy to wear.
The trouble is I’m not a young surfer I’m a mum in my fifties, still a size 10 and on the taller side and don’t live on the coast. Can I get away with the slouchy casual look in my everyday day life without looking ridiculous? I’ve never been a follower of fashion but don’t want to look odd.

I love a good millennial surf brand and have been hoovering up bargains on Vinted. Don't wear it head to toe, enjoy it one bit at a time. Unless you're surfing of course.

You see chilled and easy to wear, I see (outside actual surfing) cheap and faded … I don’t honestly think washed out board shorts and logo t shirts do anyone any favours in a non-holiday context, and a generally unkempt look isn’t helpful in middle age. But I’m sure it’s possible to craft a more ‘elevated’ surf style if it appeals to you.

@Thirdcoff lol that made me laugh. I’ve just had an unexpectedly busy day but now I’m trying to think exactly what I mean by Surfwear. I love the cropped jumpers, low waisted jeans and generally slouchy casual look but I think it’s because it harks back to the nineties and I’m probably a little old for that look now
