What do you think of this dress for a 40th birthday party?

I bought it for an event that I didn’t end up attending and have already removed tags so can’t return and so want to wear it to a party I have coming up.

But I don’t know, it feels a bit too weddingy, or day at the races?

I would have been more inclined to wear a more eveningy dark coloured dress to the party.

what do you think, am I overthinking?

I’d wear it with flats actually. Gold sandals, I don’t do heels.
