Slit back jumpsuit & bra/vest/safety pin/get over it?

I've just bought this jumpsuit which I love in general BUT I'd not realised it has a slit back (from button at top all the way to elastic waist). I don't tend to wear things that show any bra - will always go for a bra top instead of vest top with straps showing etc - just a personal/cultural preference
But now I'm not sure how to wear this. Do I just get over it - only a tiny gap in the outfit really and makes it nice and breezy on a hot day (v lightweight fabric). Or do i wear with a vest top under? Or just pop a safety pin on?
And a new bra is not the answer, as I'm making do with my existing nursing ones for the next couple of months before I go on a special trip for a big bravissimo spree in the autumn.

I'd send that back and assume that was the reason it's in the sale. I don't understand why manufacturers keep doing it. OK, maybe for styles.aimed at the very young, but I don't think this is that?

Interesting that they have the model's bra showing though. Usually they give the impression that the model is miraculously smooth and supported without one 😂

I recently bought a slit back top and also don’t like showing my bra. I used a small safety pinned on the inside to pin it wear my bra strap is. Looks fine.

You could also sew a small stitch.

I struggle with tops being too low on my so so do this frequently. I also have a few discrete tie studs that do the job.

Id return it on the basis the print is horrid. If you dot feel comfortable in it seems it back, life's too short to wear something that you don't like.

But if you need the loo, you'll be twisting and turning whilst in (possible) desperate need in an effort to unpin it. Also, can you pin it yourself, or would you need help?

Mistovertheriver · 21/06/2025 16:27

Can you sew the slit up partway, to above bra level?
Would you still be able to take the jumpsuit on and off if it’s sewn up like this?

Very good point!

Could you get a crop top thing from Primark or similar? I’ve got some plain black ones which just look like a wide smooth band from the back, no straps or fasteners in sight. I am small of boob though.

Sew a press stud at bra back level?

fluffiphlox · 21/06/2025 19:16

If it helps your dec, I think you would get bored with that print pretty quickly.
