“Clean” beauty

If there ever is such a thing :-)

I am currently in the process of completely overhauling my make-up collection in the pursuit of “cleaner” products that are better for your skin / hormones / the environment. At least as much as possible anyway.

What are everyone’s suggestions on where I might start?

I’ve been looking into ILIA, but open to more (possibly tried and tested) recommendations.

Thanks all

I’ve been using the Yuka app to get more of an idea of what different ingredients are in things and how clean or not they may be! I don’t take everything on there as gospel, but it’s a useful basic indicator. It led me to discovering Green People 24hour moisturiser which has turned out to be the best moisturiser I’ve ever used. Following for more ideas!

Yuka is good. Did you know that there only needs to be 1.75% of organic ingredients in a product for them to call it organic/natural.

Like food, check the label for things you don’t recognise. Or just go for a 100% organic product like Made for Life .

Ah, yes. I have been hearing a lot the Yuka app. I wonder if there are similar apps, as I don’t like how it rates things good or bad. But like you’ve said @balmyafternoon (love the username btw), I won’t use it as gospel and can just use it as an information tool. I’ll check out Green People moisturiser!

@mellongoose Just had a quick browse on their website, and they look and sound good! Like the sound of the orange diffuser. I would say I’m shocked by there only needing to be 1.75% natural ingredirnts for them to call a product natural or organic, but sadly not!! 🙄 I feel like we are quite misinformed a lot of the time! X

I will report back with more findings ladies 🫡
