Does anyone make their own straps for dresses?

I’ve seen lots of lovely dresses with spaghetti straps but I can’t go braless with saggy 32H boobs and have never found a strapless bra that supports and is comfortable.
Would it be ridiculous to make my own straps? Would you use ribbon or something else? I’m short so could probably cut a few inches off a maxi dress to make straps.
Does anyone have any examples they could show me where they have done this?

I saw a demo on you tube that was adding cap sleeves to spaghetti straps and it looked easy. I thought the Dane as Tou, I’d like to try that by cutting a bit off the bottom of a dress. Haven’t yet but hope to do it.

What a genius idea 💡. I’m sure just adding ribbon would look great x

It should be easy. I'd recommend, when you've seen and turned the straps right way out, pressing with an iron and pulling gently lengthways before attaching - it helps remove any stretch from the strap.

I've added some halter neck straps to dresses before. It's easy to do. Do you have a sewing machine or will you hand sew?

Yes - often. It’s easy!
