Do waistcoats suit apple shapes and where can I find them?

I like the look of waistcoats but have yet to find one that suits me. I know I definitely need a v shaped neck but the ones I see look way too formal.

Is it something that won't work with my shape?

What would you wear under?

The what to wear under one is my question too! I love the look of them with nothing underneath but my arms are done & are never exposed to the general public!

I think something like this looks really good! They are everywhere at the moment, I would just order a couple you like & try them on!
