Always had a hairy upper lip and a few prickly chin hairs but it’s going off the scale now. I’m guessing this is pre menopause…

how do people manage this?!

Forget waxing- painful and ineffective. Go straight to dermaplaning. They do everything a razor does just marketed at women who are unlikely to want a buy a product labelled as a facial shaver. Tweezerman do a good one. Do a thick layer of moisturiser or oil before and after to minimise any irritation and only do where needed. Any long or thick hair I'd pluck out altogether.

Pinktruffle · 18/06/2025 11:57

What skin and hair colour are you? I'd recommend IPL depending on your skin colour/hair colour combo. It's more of a permanent solution than something like derma planning also whilst derma planning doesn't accentuate hair growth/thickness in most women, for those who have hormonal issues it can make the hair grow thicker/faster.

TeenLifeMum · 18/06/2025 12:04

This was the point I invested in IPL and after 7 weeks I’ve not had the face hair issues and legs/armpit growth is minimal. Wish I’d done it years ago but they cost so much. I’m pale with dark hair.

CheekyRaven · 18/06/2025 13:05

I use tweezers, backlight with phone torch. Seem to grow overnight.

Hello, HRT has pretty much eradicated my facial & chin hair! I had loads before now hardly anything. I started HRT 6 months ago at age 45, it’s helped so much with so many symptoms.

Slowgrowingelm · 18/06/2025 14:04

HRT.

I bought a Gillette , facial hair trimmer ... I used for the first time the other day and it's a game changer for me . It was £18. Keeping it in my handbag so if I see any hair growing I get rid immediately

Could you give a link to the product, please? Asking for a friend, you understand.

whynotmereally · 18/06/2025 15:44

I’ve trimmed the odd stray one with nail clippers but probably need a better long term solution

i had peach fuzz on my cheeks and hairs sprouting .. and this worked a treat . I wish I'd found it ages ago.

RedNine · 18/06/2025 16:46

My friend says thank you very much.

My friend says thank you very much.

When your "friend is done using it , tell them to unscrew the top off where the razor is . I was astounded at how much fluff was collected in there after one use

RedNine · 19/06/2025 09:44

Will do.

Make yourself some sugar wax! Not as painful as normal hot wax cheap to make! And store in a jar, type on YouTube x

LadyRoughDiamond · 20/06/2025 21:56

I epilate my chin a couple of times a week and my moustache about once a month. Whizz it over the peach fuzz when I can be bothered too. Quick, easy and not messy.

LasVegass · 21/06/2025 07:35

Laser about once a month. I never need to worry in-between.

myladyjane · 21/06/2025 09:04

I alternate. I have an epilator but it needs a bit of growth to be effective. Wax strips need less but can irritate my skin. I pluck the big chin hairs. Threading can be ok but again needs decent growth.

I am sat in bed with a tea and one of those spring sticks you get on amazon. They can be quite good.

dermaplaning upsets my skin.

its a full time job. I’m not allowed HRT yet (tried, made me ill as not peri enough).

CanOfMangoTango · 21/06/2025 09:09

The peach fuzz gets waxed off once a month

IPL on the dark neck/ chin hair.

Pluck any strays.
