Fake tan with pigmentation

Hi all. Just wondered if there are any people out there that successfully use a fake tan with facial pigmentation or have thoughts on it - or recommended brands. Mine is blotchy sun damage from my youth and since I wear factor 50 all the time and stay out of the sun as much as poss, I am constantly pale. My pigmentation naturally darkens in the summer despite the precautions and my skin almost looks grey in contrast to my hair which is fading and going a bit grey too. I have come to the conclusion that I would rather be a little (fake) tanned with darker pigmentation than the current state of affairs.
I don't really like wearing make up before that is offered as a solution.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

I could have written this message. I always feel better with a gentle fake tan, I think it helps to blend the sun damage in a bit. It certainly didn’t make mine any worse, and as my very pale skin was closer in tone to it, the whole effect was more even. I tend to buy whatever gradual tan for face is on special offer, so can’t advise specifically on brands. They all seem to work for me!

I have a few age spots and find fake tan makes them stand out more. I bought some very cheap coloured sticker dots off Amazon and cover the age spots with these (4-5 in total) then apply fake tan around them. Sound faffy but it's just part of my routine now. I use the Gatineau gradual tan face serum. I like it as it dries quickly so don't have to wait around too long before putting moisturiser and make up on.

Hi. I have just bought some of the Gatineau on your recommendation. Do you still use your stickers when you apply that or do you apply all over? Thanks very much for your help.

@Anibanani I mainly apply around the stickers. When I can’t be bothered with the stickers, the age spots seem more noticeable as the fake tan works on them.

Great hack! I have this problem too. 😕
