I am day dreaming about buying the perfect pair of earrings money no object. Lovely for everyday or dressing up to go out. Classic, money no object the only pair I would ever need.

What would you get.

Diamond, pearl, colored gemstone plain gold or silver?
What shape hoop, stud, round, tear or square, drop?

I think I would like 18ct gold diamond stud. My wedding and engagement rings are yellow gold so would stick with that.

Something like this

Bezel Set Round Diamond Studs In Yellow Gold - Flawless Fine Jewellery

What would you choose.

Bezel Set Round Diamond Studs In Yellow Gold

Our round bezel set diamond studs in yellow gold are perfect for bringing refined sparkle and effortless charm to your everyday style.

My personal view is that it is always such a shame to put diamonds into a setting like that. You don't see the beauty of the diamonds. Go for the best you can afford.

OP - I've just had some made with the same 18ct yellow gold bezel setting.

Rather than be studs though, I chose for mine to hang just below my earlobe.

I have diamond stud earrings but they’re platinum set and not bezel so you just see the diamond. DH bought them for me one Christmas. I love them and never take them out. I have second piercings so have the stud in that hole and change the front earrings regularly. I forget about the studs but often get someone commenting as they catch the light.
I love gold and it’s quite pricey at the moment but would love some large gold hoops and maybe some drop earrings of a ball/ star or something pretty.

Where did he get the studs from as I'm after something similar!

DH bought them from a local, independent jeweller I think.

Similarly to other posters, I have a set of diamond studs which I bought for myself with a small inheritance. I LOVE them and never take them out! I only have one piercing in each ear but after reading @greengreyblue has two and keeps the studs in the second set I’m very tempted to do the same! The diamonds go with everything but I also have other earrings I like to wear and change up so I think I may get another set done!

My dad inherited a big, beautiful solitaire diamond which he had made into a ring for my mum which was in a bezel setting. She ended up getting it changed because while it was beautiful, it just didn’t make the most of the stone.

I got platinum set lab grown diamond studs made by a local independent jeweller and they are absolutely gorgeous, and so classic

Ahh that’s nice. I only had it done a few years ago.

The hoops are gold plated and crystal from Oliver Bonas.

luckylavender · 16/06/2025 18:58

I love my diamond studs but I could never be satisfied with one pair of earrings. Where’s the fun in that?!

MyKingdomForACat · 16/06/2025 19:01

I have similar studs from Beaverbrooks. Beautiful x

Why one pair? You can take them out or do as I do above.

luckylavender · 16/06/2025 20:03

@greengreyblue- the OP says it would be the only pair she would ever need

Haha, turn of phrase. The one pair I would ever need, classy and suitable in every situation. If I were like that! (I have been re reading Rosamund Pilcher and am imagining myself as landed gentry with a signature scent, some priceless jewels worn to walk the dogs and an elegant but threadbare rug in the drawing room!)

I'm not like that. I have many, many pairs of earrings. Some pricy, mostly cheap. I generally wear a different pair each day. I have everything from pearls to dangly dice!

Weemumofone · 16/06/2025 22:50

I love my classic pearls. They go with everything but I treated myself to a gorgeous pair of Tiffany silver hoops. Between those that’s all I wear.

PomeloOud · 17/06/2025 08:41

My husband bought me diamond studs maybe 20 years ago and I wear them constantly. I usually wear one in in my cartilage piercing and one on the other lobe in the 3rd hole. Sometimes I just wear them in the first holes. I absolutely love them.

luckylavender · 17/06/2025 11:05

@Hoolahoophop- Phew!

I have two sets of diamond studs - my everyday ones and my dress up ones 😂

greengreyblue · 17/06/2025 16:28

I have a pair of black diamond star studs. DH bought them second hand. I love them but I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy black diamonds as you can’t tell what they are!

I have a blue diamond ring. Nobody knows it's a diamond. But it's gorgeous and hard wearing so I never take it off.

My daughter bought me a beautiful pair of white gold star earrings. They're not diamond they're cubic zirconia (oh the horror, according to some on here 😂). I have dozens of pairs of earrings but these are absolutely my favourites and I wear them virtually every day.
