Idiot proof gradual tanning guide, please?

I see lots of threads about brands. But what I'm asking is how does, say, a month using gradual tanner work, please?

Timings of exfoliating; waxing/ shaving/ epilating; moisturising; applying gradual tanner etc.

Does the type of SPF one uses on top matter?

And is there a point where you have to scrub the whole lot off and start again? Or can it just fade out and be built up again?

In the past I've only ever had a salon spray tan, and each one has been for specific event so I haven't tried to maintain the colour. I am after a much less dramatic result but I'd like it to be constant.

I think you’re overthinking it-just slap some on and experiment. I would exfoliate, remove hairs and moisturize the night before and apply fake tan the next day. If it’s not dark enough apply another coat the next day. It will get patchy after about 3 or 4 days so exfoliate it all off and start again if you like. Depending on the brand and your skin type it might just fade back to white.
SPF (and chlorine in pools) will strip it off so you’ll need to apply much more often if you use SPF on your arms and legs.

Ok thanks!

I probably am overthinking it!

I could re-dye my hair in my sleep I'm so used to doing it. I want to get to that point of nonchalance!
