Hair dye removal help

Hair was a dyed light blonde, went over it yesterday with l'oreal dark ash blonde permanent. It is now an interesting mix of ash brown, grey and mauve!

Been MANY years since I removed colour. Any tips? Or should I go professional?

There are dye remove kits you can buy but some can seriously damage your hair. Years ago I did a home dye kit and the burgundy colour made me look like a ghost so I bought a kit to remove it - it worked but my hair looked like a brillo pad for a while!

Head & Shoulders clarified shampoo can lighten/lift some of the colour - I used this after I went from blonde to brown and it definitely lightened it, just leave the shampoo on for 5 minutes.
I've also read mixing it with a crushed vitamin C tablet can further the colour removal, but I don't know how true that is.

I'd suggest professional help if you want full removal, Head & Shoulders clarified if you are ok with gradual removal.
