Itchy face after serum

Hello beauty friends!

I’m after some advice, product placement and recs, and a bit of sympathy!

I love skin care, subscribe to Liberty BD and Look Fantastic and enjoy new things. So last week I finally spanked some money on a few Trinny products. I got Plump Up, Overnight Clarity and Bounce Back. I bought the small sample sizes. Fortunately, as it turns out.

My skin does NOT like the Plump Up! Not one bit. Hello itchy, red face!

I’m engaged in a conversation with CS and am hoping for a return/refund.

(that’s the sympathy bit!)

But now I need some advice and how to treat my skin for the next few days and recs for a nice gentle serum!

I’m 60. My skin is not lined (lucky me and my genes) but it is sensitive. I have a huge mass of things to try. I think I need to know what to definitely avoid as much as what to do/try.

Your advice and guidance is more welcome. Please!

Thanks!

Nothing. If you really need something e45?

TragicMuse · 14/06/2025 19:40

Thanks @Funnyduck60 I can’t use e45. Vitamin E also makes me itch!!

Oh poor you. This always happens to me too and my daughter. I tend to use the cheap Nivea soft in the mainly white pot. Where i had a more widespread allergic reaction, I was told to use Dermol products.

Cicaplast baum is good for reactions. But generally I'd say just use whatever you find most soothing and non-reactive. For me that's a hyaluronic serum and a very basic moisturiser like Simple, but it will be different for everyone.

I have very reactive skin but love skincare and make up, it's a pain!

TragicMuse · 14/06/2025 20:01

Thanks! I’ll see if I have any hyaluronic. Fingers crossed!

I didn’t have any hyaluronic acid serum. Face has recovered though and I’ve just bought the Cerave one.

Fortunately the Trinny moisturiser is fine and not itchy!

Did it have niacinimide in it? This makes my face itchy but it’s a common reaction and eases over time.

Oh I don’t know! I’ll have a look, thanks.
